“God over all things” means that God is absolutely sovereign—




He rules creation, history, nations, nature, and every power without limitation,

Meaning of “God Over All Things” expresses the doctrine of divine sovereignty, which teaches that God is the supreme authority over everything that exists—spiritual, physical, cosmic, and human. Scripture consistently presents God as the One whose will governs all reality.

“He does according to His will… no one can stay out of his hand.” (Daniel 4:35)

 Creator and Sustainer

God created all things (Genesis 1:1) and continually sustains them. Nothing exists independently but under His will.

Weather, seasons, animals, and natural events operate under God’s command (Psalm 135:6–7; Job 37:6–13). 

God's authority Over Nations and History

God raises up rulers and brings them down also (Daniel 2:21). He directs the course of history according to His purposes. 

 God's authority Over All Powers

Christ is described as being “far above all rule and authority” (Ephesians 1:21), and all things were created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16–17). 

God's authority Over Salvation

God’s sovereignty extends to salvation itself—He chooses, calls, and saves according to His will (Romans 9:15–16; Ephesians 1:4–6).
