The story of Samson is found in the Book of Judges in the Old Testament of the Bible. Samson was a judge of Israel, a hero who possessed supernatural strength given to him by God to fight the enemies of his people, the Philistines.

Samson's story begins with his miraculous birth. His parents, Manoah and his wife, were unable to conceive a child until an angel appeared to them and promised that they would have a son who would deliver Israel from the Philistines.

As Samson grew up, he demonstrated his strength and fearlessness, famously defeating a lion with his bare hands. He also fell in love with a Philistine woman named Delilah, despite the opposition of his parents and the fact that the Philistines were enemies of Israel.

Delilah, however, was secretly in the employ of the Philistine rulers, who wanted to learn the secret of Samson's strength so they could defeat him. She repeatedly asked Samson the source of his strength, and he teased her with false answers until he finally revealed that it came from his uncut hair, which was a symbol of his Nazirite vow to God.

With this knowledge, Delilah betrayed Samson to the Philistines, who captured him and gouged out his eyes. Samson was brought before the Philistine rulers as a spectacle, but in a final act of strength, he asked God to restore his strength and pulled down the pillars of the temple where he was being held, killing himself and his captors.

Samson's story is often interpreted as a cautionary tale about the dangers of temptation and disobedience to God's commands, as well as a testament to the power of faith and the importance of fulfilling one's divine purpose.
